The time has come! After greater than 30 years of software program growth at MathWorks, I’ve determined to retire. Friday, March 29, shall be my final day.


For 18 of these 30 years, I’ve been writing right here (600 posts!) about picture processing and MATLAB. I’m grateful to all of you who’ve been following alongside.

I wish to point out a few those that I’ve labored with for many of my time at MathWorks. Roy and I’ve been sharing deep ideas about MATLAB and technical computing for 25 years or so, and he has helped me at many factors alongside my profession. Ned performed a key position in establishing this technical running a blog house at blogs.mathworks.com, and he has been a never-failing supply of inspiration and encouragement. Thanks, guys!



Because of Loren, who employed me and taught me learn how to be a MathWorker and a toolbox developer. Because of Michelle, my collaborator for a decade of teaching groups about MATLAB design. Because of Cleve, who taught me to make use of sparse backslash and so many different issues about MATLAB. And because of Jack, who created and nonetheless guides this superb firm and who taught me how to consider design.


Lastly, I’d like to provide a shout-out to the MathWorkers who realized about MATLAB and picture processing with the assistance of this weblog. I’ve met and heard from lots of you lately, and I respect listening to your tales.
